A child cannot learn if the child is on alert all the time with his/her surroundings. The child needs a place of understanding and an acceptance of who she/he is and then and only then can they learn. My son blossomed and his confidence gradually increased to the point of welcoming a new family to PLC and giving them a tour this year at open house.
